Promoter Garry Van Egmond announced the Australian dates for AC/DC’s ROCK OR BUST WORLD TOUR today.   Following on from the release of their worldwide Number One album ‘Rock Or Bust’, the legendary band will play Australian stadium shows in November and December.  AC/DC will blast their way through each of the five major capital cities where they will appear at outdoor stadiums.

The Australian tour announcement comes soon after AC/DC delivered an explosive performance of the single “Rock or Bust” and their classic “Highway To Hell” at the 57^th annual Grammy Awards.  This weekend AC/DC are confirmed to headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 10 and 17 kicking off what is slated to be a massive touring year for AC/DC.

The Rock or Bust World Tour begins in Holland on May 5 and will play dates in Europe through to July.   When tickets went on sale in Europe Rock or Bust World Tour sold 1.75 million tickets in 24 hours! The North American leg commences in August through to September before the band head to Australia in November. New Zealand dates have also been confirmed for December with tickets going on sale in May.

AC/DC last toured the world from 2008-2010 with the Black Ice World Tour, which had the band playing to over 5 million fans in 108 cities in over 28 countries.  Box office records were smashed in Australia and New Zealand with 750,000 tickets sold and The Black Ice World Tour earned AC/DC a Pollstar Award for Major Tour of the Year in 2010.

AC/DC’s album ‘Rock or Bust’ was released on December 2 last year and immediately topped sales charts around the globe.  The album’s first 2 singles “Play Ball” and “Rock or Bust” were added to major radio around the world.  The band’s third video “Rock The Blues Away” shot in Los Angeles has just been released and has already notched up more than 9 million views.

‘Rock or Bust’ is the band’s fifth No.1 album in Australia and the bands seventeenth studio album overall, with the previous four being: BACK IN BLACK (March 1981), LIVE (22-Nov-1992), BALLBREAKER (8-Oct-1995), and their last was BLACK ICE (27-Oct-2008).

To say that Billy Connolly is just a comedian is inadequate.  Inadequate because not only does he have an innate gift to make people laugh at the most ordinary observations of everyday life, but his talent is extended into many fields – playwriting and acting among them.  Billy Connolly has enjoyed a longstanding career as one of the world’s best-loved comedians. His live shows have been enthralling audiences around the world for over three decades.

Billy Connolly has been wowing Australian audiences with his live stand-up shows since 1978. With every visit, his fan base grows larger and larger with new generations of fans and sold out shows all around the country.

This time round will be no exception. He’s funnier than ever and he’ll be on his very high horse as he regales audiences with the humour that’s filled his head since his last visit.

His professional life started in the shipyards of Glasgow where he worked as a welder in the early 60s. He decided to give it away to pursue a career as a folk singer and banjo player in the Humblebums with Gerry Rafferty (later of Baker Street fame) and then as soloist.

The jokes he told between songs eventually took over his act and he became a full time comedian. Already a big star in Scotland, he became a household name in the UK after appearing on “Parkinson” (1971) in the early 70s.

He also became an actor, and has appeared in blockbusters ranging from Indecent Proposal (1993) to Mrs. Brown (1997), for which he was nominated for a BAFTA; the all-star Quartet (2012) through to Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) and Gulliver’s Travels (2010) starring Jack Black, to name but a few. His love affair with New Zealand has included appearances in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movies as well as The Last Samurai, filmed in Taranaki with Tom Cruise.

In 2012, Billy Connolly’s artistic expression took a new path, in the form of fine art (his tour logo features his own art). The process is similar to that of the Surrealist Automatism movement, whereby the artist allows the hand to move randomly across the paper or canvas, without an intent to create anything specifically.  Connolly’s art can also be likened to that of the cave paintings that originated in Aurignacian culture, possessing a charming simplicity, yet an extraordinary self-awareness and humanity. Connolly’s characters are faceless, completely anonymous; seemingly devoid of emotion or expression and yet, the emotional connection with the audience is quite prevalent. Billy is now also recognised as an artist, as original artwork by Billy has been displayed in various exhibitions throughout the UK since 2012.

Andrew Dice Clay is proud to be America’s most controversial and outrageous comic of all time.  The comic icon’s rise to fame was meteoric, selling out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row, appearing in numerous feature films including The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, a string of multi-gold and platinum selling CDs and DVDs (Day The Laughter Died; Filth & Face Down, Ass Up and No Apologies & Dice Rules), starring in HBO specials (The Dice Man Cometh) and profiled everywhere from Entertainment Tonight to Nightline.

And now for the first ever, Australian fans will get to experience Andrew Dice Clay live and in person as he brings his shocking and uproariously funny comedy down under, commencing in Canberra on October 7^th, and stopping in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Wollongong, Geelong, Toowoomba, Newcastle and the Gold Coast.

To this day, Clay remains the only performer banned for life from MTV. When he released his debut album, DICE, the parental advisory label simply read “Warning: This album is offensive.” Despite the media backlash, Dice’s star rose at a phenomenal rate as he played hundreds of sports arenas from coast to coast across the USA throughout the 90’s. As Dice proudly boasted, “I’ve done so many concerts tours that I can’t even remember their names.” And in 1992, Dice performed in front of the largest audience ever by a comedian when he shared the stage with Guns & Roses at the Rose Bowl.

Over the last few years, Dice has been going through resurgence; he had a critically acclaimed role on the final season of HBO’s Entourage.  Last year, Clay starred alongside Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine.  Most recently, the comedian’s first stand-up special in 17 years aired on Showtime simply titled Andrew Dice Clay: INDESTRUCTIBLE and proved the DiceMan is back in action.  And if that is not enough, Dice proudly admits he was thrown off of Celebrity Apprentice after just one appearance on the show.
